What is “Intergroup?”

S-Anon/S-Ateen Information Services Groups (ISGs), are sometimes called “Intergroups.”

To form an Intergroup, local groups may elect Group Service Representatives to attend Intergroup meetings and report back to home groups on matters of interest to all the local groups.

The Colorado S-Anon Intergroup consists of representatives from S-Anon groups in Colorado. Its purpose is to support these local S-Anon groups. Colorado S-Anon Intergroup meets monthly.

The local groups that support an Intergroup, not the Intergroup itself, have the voting privileges assigned to Registered Groups. Therefore, the Intergroup itself does not have a vote in Fellowship-wide Group Conscience, Delegate selection, or Regional Trustee selection.

Intergroups can facilitate and strengthen the service structure in an area, but are not part of the Traditional or Legal service structure. The Intergroup, however, can do much to facilitate the voting privileges of its member groups.

Intergroups may facilitate communication between local groups and work together in planning local/regional events, or community outreach. Where possible, an ISG may also coordinate election of the World Service Conference Area Delegate. Intergroups usually meet regularly and may serve as a forum to discuss group problems in light of S-Anon’s Twelve Traditions and Twelve Concepts of Service.

Colorado S-Anon Intergroup exists to provide information and support resources to participating Colorado S-Anon groups. For more information about how you can become part of Intergroup goto: Service
